HOUSE BILL NO. 5676

A bill to amend 1984 PA 270, entitled

"Michigan strategic fund act,"

(MCL 125.2001 to 125.2094) by adding section 9a.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 9a. (1) In addition to the report under section 9, not later than April 10 of each year, the fund shall transmit to the state budget office and the senate and house of representatives appropriations committees a report on workforce placement programs conducted during the immediately preceding fiscal year. The report must not include information exempt from disclosure under section 5. The report must include, but is not limited to, all of the following for each workforce placement program:

(a) The number of individuals who participated in the workforce placement program.

(b) The length of time each individual identified in subdivision (a) participated in the workforce placement program.

(c) The number of individuals who reentered the workforce placement program.

(d) The number of individuals who received job placements and, of those job placements, how many were permanent placements and how many were temporary placements.

(e) A breakdown of job classifications for placements by type.

(f) The average wage of the placements by job classification.

(g) The percentage of individuals in the program who attained an applicable degree or certificate.

(2) A person described in subsection (3)(b), (c), or (d) shall provide the fund with the information necessary to prepare the report under subsection (1).

(3) As used in this section, "workforce placement program" means a program to help individuals find employment in this state that is operated by any of the following:

(a) The fund.

(b) The MEDC.

(c) The department of labor and economic opportunity.

(d) A person that contracts with a person listed in subdivision (a), (b), or (c) to provide the program.
