HOUSE BILL NO. 5720

A bill to require the department of military and veterans affairs to make certain mental health and wellness resources available to members of the Michigan National Guard and other military servicemembers.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1. This act may be cited as the "Michigan National Guard access to resources act".

Sec. 2. As used in this act:

(a) "Department" means the department of military and veterans affairs.

(b) "Mental health and wellness resource guide" means the mental health and wellness resource guide created under section 6 of the protecting veterans mental health act.

Sec. 3. The department shall ensure that members of the Michigan National Guard and any other military servicemembers residing in this state have access to the mental health and wellness resource guide at no cost in either or both of the following formats:

(a) In print in an easily accessible location or on request.

(b) Electronically on the department's website.

Enacting section 1. This act does not take effect unless all of the following bills of the 102nd Legislature are enacted into law:

(a) House Bill No. 5276.

(b) House Bill No. 5277.

(c) House Bill No. 5279.

(d) House Bill No. 5280.
