1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Gene Gruber on winning the USA National Plowing Title.
1.3WHEREAS, on August 5-6, 2012, Gene Gruber participated in the USA National Plowing
1.4competition in Jordan, Minnesota, and won his fifth national title; and
1.5WHEREAS, Gene is now qualified to represent the USA at the 60th World Plowing Contest
1.6in July 2013, in Olds, Alberta, Canada, where he will compete against 31 other countries; and
1.7WHEREAS, Gene holds five of his family's 15 national titles, and he is also coaching his
1.8daughter Hailey who will carry on the family tradition; and
1.9WHEREAS, Gene has competed in four World contests and won the Canadian
1.10International Contest in 2011 in Chute-A-Blondeau, Ontario, Canada; and
1.11WHEREAS, Gene has traveled to numerous World Plowing Contests to coach and assist
1.12fellow USA Plowmen and just returned from coaching the USA Team at the 59th World Contest
1.13in Croatia; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15it congratulates Gene Gruber on winning the USA National Plowing Title and wishes him well
1.16in the 60th World Plowing Contest.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Gene Gruber.
