Senate Bill 3061

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARSHALL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO EMPLOY SUCH ADDITIONAL PART-TIME COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEYS AS IT DETERMINES NECESSARY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Marshall County, Mississippi, may, in its discretion, employ such additional part-time assistant county prosecuting attorneys as it determines necessary, designate the duties and responsibilities of such assistant county prosecuting attorneys, and pay such assistant county prosecuting attorneys an annual salary in an amount as determined by the board of supervisors; however, the annual salary of assistant county prosecuting attorneys employed under this section shall not exceed ninety percent (90%) of the salary paid to the elected County Prosecuting Attorney of Marshall County.  The salary authorized by this section for assistant prosecuting attorneys shall be the sole and complete salary to be paid by Marshall County for such assistant county prosecuting attorneys in Marshall County, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
