AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 916, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2016, AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 935, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2020, TO EXTEND THE REPEAL DATE FROM JULY 1, 2024, TO JULY 1, 2028, ON THE PROVISION OF LAW AUTHORIZING THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS OF ALCORN, BENTON, PRENTISS, TIPPAH AND TISHOMINGO COUNTIES TO CONTRIBUTE TO NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY SERVICES, INC., IN AN AMOUNT DETERMINED BY EACH INDIVIDUAL BOARD NOT TO EXCEED $150,000.00, TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS FROM THE STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT; TO EXTEND THE SAME AUTHORITY TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARSHALL COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 916, Local and Private Laws of 2016, as amended by Chapter 935, Local and Private Laws of 2020, is amended as follows:

     Section 1.  (1)  The Boards of Supervisors of Alcorn, Benton, Marshall, Prentiss, Tippah and Tishomingo Counties, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to contribute to Northeast Mississippi Community Services, Inc., a community action agency, a sum in an amount determined by each individual board provided that the amount does not exceed One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) from each individual board to be used as matching funds in order that Northeast Mississippi Community Services, Inc., may receive funds from the state or federal government.

     (2)  The provisions of this section shall be repealed from and after July 1, * * * 2024 2028.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
