A house RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CAPTAINS APRIL AND RANDULL TILLER OF THE SALVATION ARMY FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF AIKEN, ALLENDALE, BARNWELL, AND EDGEFIELD COUNTIES AND TO WISH THEM GOD'S RICHEST BLESSINGS AS THEY TAKE UP NEW DUTIES WITH THE SALVATION ARMY'S MINISTRY IN CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives salutes Captains April and Randull Tiller, corps officers and pastors of the Salvation Army headquartered in Aiken, who are leaving their present ministry on June 9, 2024, to begin work with the Salvation Army's ministry in Concord, North Carolina; and

Whereas, under the Tiller's leadership for the past six years, the Salvation Army of Aiken has seen improvement in its financial health, and significantly expanded initiatives to benefit the homeless, including maximizing the Salvation Army's shelter capacity, diligently relocating 1,300 homeless into permanent housing, assisting more than 37,000 with social services, rent, utilities, clothing and furniture vouchers, serving tens of thousands meals through its soup kitchen, all while expanding Club Kids through the Boys & Girls Clubs to serve 517 young people; and

Whereas, the Tiller's also have expanded the Salvation Army's relationship with the communities it serves so that more churches, civic groups, and government agencies are working with the ministry. That has resulted in community awareness of what the Salvation Army is accomplishing in the Aiken region. The Tiller's will remain a part of the Aiken community family where their passion and devotion will be sorely missed; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives, grateful for the consistent commitment and excellence April and Randull have demonstrated in their work, takes great pleasure in wishing them well as they enter a new field of ministry in North Carolina, and the members trust that God will bless them abundantly there, just as He has in Aiken. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Captains April and Randull Tiller of the Salvation Army for their outstanding and dedicated service to the citizens of Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, and Edgefield counties and wish them God's richest blessings as they take up new duties with the Salvation Army's ministry in Concord, North Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Captains April and Randull Tiller.
