WHEREAS, LEAD Historic Triangle is commended for its service to the Greater Williamsburg community with its Hands Together Historic Triangle Resource Fair held on March 4, 2013; and WHEREAS, LEAD Historic Triangle, sponsored by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance, brings together future community leaders who receive information about topics of community interest and concern and enhance their leadership and community service skills; and WHEREAS, LEAD Historic Triangle's Class of 2013 decided to make a difference in the community by helping the hundreds of Greater Williamsburg area families who are precariously housed or homeless; and WHEREAS, LEAD Historic Triangle collaborated with local businesses, nonprofit groups, faith-based organizations, and government agencies to present the Hands Together Historic Triangle Resource Fair; and WHEREAS, the LEAD Historic Triangle Hands Together Historic Triangle Resource Fair provided in one convenient location information about shelter, food, and medical care to precariously housed or homeless members of the community; and WHEREAS, hundreds of community members generously volunteered their time and energy to help with the LEAD Historic Triangle Hands Together Historic Triangle Resource Fair; and WHEREAS, the success of the LEAD Historic Triangle Hands Together Historic Triangle Resource Fair demonstrated what can be accomplished when community members come together; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That LEAD Historic Triangle hereby be commended for its work to help the precariously housed and homeless in the Greater Williamsburg area through its Hands Together Historic Triangle Resource Fair; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to LEAD Historic Triangle; Bob Hershberger, the LEAD Historic Triangle program coordinator; and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the program's visionary work to help those in need. |
