SENATE BILL NO. 237
AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE
(Proposed by the Governor
on April 8, 2024)
(Patron Prior to Substitute--Senator Hashmi)
A BILL to provide that individuals possess the right to access contraception independently of the requirements of the Constitution of the United States.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That it shall be the public policy of the Commonwealth, independently of the requirements of the Constitution of the United States, that individuals possess the right to access contraception as set forth in Griswold v. Connecticut, 381 U.S. 479 (1965), and Eisenstadt v. Baird, 405 U.S. 438 (1972).
