A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 17 of Title 63.2 a section numbered 63.2-1714.1, relating to child care providers; personal protective equipment during certain declared states of emergency; essential workers; emergency.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 17 of Title 63.2 a section numbered 63.2-1714.1 as follows:

§63.2-1714.1. Declared state of emergency; essential workers.

In any case in which the Governor has declared a state of emergency related to a communicable disease of public health threat pursuant to §44-146.17, persons operating or working or volunteering at a child day center or family day home shall be considered essential workers and shall be included in any group afforded priority with regard to access to personal protective equipment during such emergency.

2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
