AN ACT

 

amending Title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-160; relating to school safety requirements.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-160, to read:

START_STATUTE15-160.  Child abuse hotline; posting

Each school that is operated by a school district and each charter school shall post in a clearly visible location in a public area of the school that is readily accessible to students a sign that measures at least eleven inches by seventeen inches, that is placed at students' eye level and that contains all of the following information in English and Spanish and in large print:

1.  In boldfaced type, the telephone number of the centralized intake hotline established pursuant to section 8‑455 to receive communications concerning suspected abuse or neglect of children.

2.  Instructions to call 911 for emergencies.

3.  Directions for accessing the website of the department of child safety for more information on reporting child abuse, child neglect and child exploitation. END_STATUTE
