AN ACT
amending title 15, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-120.05; RELATING to education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-120.05, to read:
15-120.05. Crimes against children; parent training; definition
A. The department of education shall develop and maintain a webpage for parent training programs and resources pursuant to this section that includes all of the following:
1. At least one training program that is provided free of charge and that includes instruction on both child sex trafficking and internet crimes against children. If available, the department of education may use a training program that is provided free of charge by the Arizona department of homeland security for the purposes of this paragraph.
2. Educational materials and resources related to preventing child sex trafficking and internet crimes against children.
3. Information in a printable format for parents and guardians who do not have access to the internet. Information provided pursuant to this paragraph shall include information about how parents and guardians may access training in alternative formats through public schools, including contact information.
B. Each school shall provide both of the following:
1. Information in a hard copy format about the training program and available resources described in subsection A of this section to each parent or guardian of a student at the beginning of each school year or, if applicable, when the student transfers to the school. The information provided pursuant to this paragraph shall include the following:
(a) A statement that, to enhance child safety awareness, The parent or guardian is strongly encouraged to complete the training program at least once each year.
(b) A description of the training program that is provided free of charge pursuant to subsection A, paragraph 1 of this section, including information about how to access the training program.
(c) Information about one or more training programs that the school provides in an alternative format pursuant to paragraph 2 of this subsection for parents and guardians who do not have access to the internet.
2. A training program and related materials as prescribed by subsection A, paragraphs 1 and 2 of this section in the best feasible alternative format, as determined by the school, for any parent or guardian who does not have access to the internet.
C. For the purposes of this section, "school" means a school district or charter school in this state that provides instruction to students in kindergarten programs or any of grades one through eight.
