An Act
appropriating monies to the state treasurer.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; state treasurer; training simulators
A. The sum of $1,668,000 is appropriated from the peace officer training equipment fund established by section 41-1731, Arizona Revised Statutes, in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the state treasurer for training simulators.
B. The state treasurer shall distribute the monies appropriated in subsection A of this section in the following amounts to the following recipients to purchase the listed training simulator:
1. $300,000 to the Flagstaff police department to purchase a V-300 LE simulator.
2. $300,000 to the Mohave county probation department to purchase a V-300 LE simulator.
3. $300,000 to the Gila county sheriff's office to purchase a V-300 LE simulator.
4. $138,000 to the Casa Grande police department to purchase a V-180 LE simulator.
5. $330,000 to the Maricopa county sheriff’s office to purchase a V-300 LE simulator.
6. $300,000 to the Navajo county sheriff’s office to purchase a V-300 LE simulator.
Sec. 2. Legislative intent
The legislature intends that the training simulator devices purchased pursuant to this act will be used for de-escalation and tactical training as well as training on effective ways to deal with autistic, deaf or mentally ill communities.
