AN ACT
Providing for a list of rural groundwater projects.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Rural groundwater projects; list; active management areas; economic development; delayed repeal; definition
Section 1.A. On or before December 31, 2022, the Arizona commerce authority, through the chief executive officer, shall develop a list of at least one hundred rural groundwater projects outside of active management areas that are designed to augment, conserve and protect groundwater supplies outside of active management areas. The list shall give priority to projects in areas outside of active management areas that contribute the most to the authority's comprehensive long-range strategic economic plans for this state developed pursuant to section 41-1504, Arizona Revised Statutes.
B. On or before December 31, 2022, the Arizona commerce authority shall submit the list required by subsection A of this section to the governor, the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives and the director of the department of water resources.
C. This section is repealed from and after December 31, 2022.
D. For the purposes of this section, "active management areas" has the same meaning prescribed in section 45-402, Arizona Revised Statutes.
