A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
Proclaiming November 1, 2019 as Access to Postsecondary Education and Training Day.

Whereas, having an educated and skilled workforce is the foundation for success in a global economy; and
Whereas, citizens across Arizona agree that expanding access to quality postsecondary education and training opportunities should be an issue of great importance to our state's leaders; and
Whereas, this state recognizes the critical role that affordability plays in the ability of Arizonans to enroll in quality postsecondary education and training programs; and
Whereas, Arizona has a multitude of public and private postsecondary education and training programs; and
Whereas, the vital cause of improving Arizona's economy is one that transcends ideology and political party affiliation; and
Whereas, research in this state and across the nation demonstrates conclusively that increasing postsecondary education and training leads to increased individual earnings, higher productivity and positive economic development.
Therefore
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:
That the Members of the Legislature proclaim November 1, 2019 as Access to Postsecondary Education and Training Day in Arizona to increase awareness of the benefits of postsecondary education and training and how to access postsecondary education and training opportunities.
