(a)At the beginning of the first semester or quarter of the regular school term, local educational agencies offering any of grades 9 to 12, inclusive, shall inform the parent or guardian of each minor pupil enrolled in any of those grades of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, dual enrollment, or career technical education course offerings that may be available at their child’s school.
(b)For purposes of this section, a “local educational agency” means a school district, county office of education, or charter school.
If the Commission on State Mandates determines that this act contains costs mandated by the state, reimbursement to local agencies and school districts for those costs shall be made pursuant to Part 7 (commencing with Section 17500) of Division 4 of Title 2 of the Government Code.
