12804.17.
(a) The department, in conjunction with the Department of the California Highway Patrol, shall prepare a report evaluating the pilot program described in Section 12804.16 and submit a report regarding the pilot program to the Legislature no later than February 1, 2024, to include, but not be limited to, all of the following:(1) The number of motorcycle safety program participants in the pilot program.
(2) The number of exams administered under the pilot program, including the pass and failure rate.
(3) A comparison of the pass and failure rate to the examination administered by the department for a class M1
license.
(4) The number of facilities the department inspected during the length of the pilot, and if it revoked the participation of any pilot program participants.
(5) A comparison of the number of applicants that took the exam described in subparagraph (D) of paragraph (1) of subdivision (a) of Section 12804.9 in order to obtain a class M1 license at the department a year before the pilot program compared to the number of applicants during the pilot program.
(6) An evaluation on the amount of money charged by motorcycle safety program service providers and grant recipients to take the examination administered by the pilot program.
(7) A recommendation as to whether or not the pilot program should be extended.
(b) (1) A report to be submitted pursuant to subdivision (a) shall be submitted in compliance with Section 9795 of the Government Code.
(2) Pursuant to Section 10231.5 of the Government Code, this section is repealed on January 1, 2028.
