CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2021–2022 REGULAR SESSION

Assembly Bill
No. 2612

Introduced by Assembly Member Chen

February 18, 2022

An act to amend Section 6404 of the Penal Code, relating to criminal law.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 2612, as introduced, Chen. Criminal law: incarceration.
Existing law authorizes the Secretary of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to prescribe and amend rules and regulations for the administration of prisons. Existing law authorizes the department to develop polices and regulations on visitation. Existing law allows an inmate sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, or to life and the inmate does not have a parole date established, to have family visits.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.
