AN ACT CONCERNING THE RESIDENCY OF ELECTORS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (a) of section 9-12 of the general statutes be amended to provide that a person residing in a dwelling unit located outside the geographical boundaries of a town, on contiguous land partly within such town, and its occupants had previously been admitted as electors in that town, at that location, prior to October 1, 2007, those electors shall be considered bona fide residents of that town and the dwelling unit shall be considered a bona fide residence of that town.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow bona fide residents of a town to be considered electors for the purposes of voting.
