AN ACT CONCERNING UNFUNDED STATE MANDATES TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no bill shall be enacted, except upon approval by a vote of at least two-thirds of the members of each chamber of the General Assembly, that creates or expands a state mandate to local governments for which no state reimbursement of costs resulting from such new or expanded state mandate is provided.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the vote of two-thirds of each chamber of the General Assembly to enact a new unfunded state mandate.
