AN ACT CONCERNING ELIGIBILITY FOR A PERMIT TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 29-28 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any applicant for a state or temporary state permit to carry a pistol or revolver be disqualified from receiving such permit if such applicant has been convicted of a criminal offense in another state or subdivision of the United States, the essential elements of which are the same as a disqualifying criminal offense for such permit under said section.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide that any applicant for a state or temporary state permit to carry a pistol or revolver be disqualified from receiving such permit if such applicant has been convicted of a criminal offense in another state or subdivision of the United States, the essential elements of which are the same as a disqualifying criminal offense for such permit under section 29-28 of the general statutes.
