AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDING STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE WITH MEDICAID.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services, in consultation with the president of the Board of Regents for Higher Education, the executive director of the Office of Higher Education and the president of the Board of Trustees for The University of Connecticut, to conduct a study into the potential benefits of using Medicaid dollars to fund or supplement health insurance plans for college students who qualify for Medicaid.

Statement of Purpose:

To study the potential benefits of applying Medicaid funds to the cost of health insurance for college students who are eligible for Medicaid.
