AN ACT CONCERNING GAMES OF CHANCE HELD BY NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 98 of the general statutes be amended to (1) permit nonprofit organizations to raise funds through games of chance if the prize is nonmonetary, and (2) simplify the process for nonprofit organizations to apply for a permit to operate a raffle.

Statement of Purpose:

To permit nonprofit organizations to raise funds through games of chance and to simplify, for nonprofit organizations, the process of applying for a raffle permit.
