AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AS THE LEAD AGENCY FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE FOOD SAFETY MODERNIZATION ACT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) The Department of Agriculture shall be the lead state agency for purposes of the implementation, administration and enforcement of the federal Food Safety Modernization Act and any rules or regulations promulgated pursuant to said act.


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
