AN ACT CONCERNING THE FILM TAX CREDIT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 12-217jj of the general statutes be amended to lower the threshold amount to qualify for the film tax credit from one million dollars to five hundred thousand dollars, and to remove the requirement that fifty per cent of principal photography occur in the state if the company seeking the credit is involved in significant special effects, post production or sound work on a film principally shot elsewhere.

Statement of Purpose:

To make more state companies eligible for the film tax credit program.
