AN ACT CONCERNING EXPANSION OF THE LICENSE RENEWAL FEE WAIVER FOR CERTAIN RETIRED PHYSICIANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 20-10c of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2012):
Any person who practices medicine for no fee, for at least one hundred hours per year at a public health facility, as defined in section 20-126l, or in connection with (1) a mobile health clinic that provides health care services to individuals of this state, (2) a local health department, (3) the United States Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Health Administration, (4) a United States Coast Guard medical clinic, or (5) Doctors Without Borders and does not otherwise engage in the practice of medicine, shall be eligible to renew a license, as provided in subsection (b) of section 19a-88, without payment of the professional services fee specified in said subsection (b).
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To expand the license renewal fee waiver for physicians who provide volunteer medical services for a local health department, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Health Administration, a United States Coast Guard medical clinic or Doctors Without Borders.
