AN ACT CONCERNING REGULATION OF WATER COMPANIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2013) The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, in conjunction with the Department of Public Health, shall study the feasibility of reorganizing the regulation of water companies from the Department of Public Health to the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority. On or before January 1, 2014, the authority shall report the findings of such study to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to energy, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To study the feasibility of reorganizing the regulation of water companies from the Department of Public Health to the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.
