    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the student assessment program;
    3         amending s. 1008.22, F.S.; prohibiting a school
    4         district from scheduling more than a specified number
    5         of school days to administer local and statewide
    6         assessments; requiring the school district to approve
    7         additional days if needed; providing an effective
    8         date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Paragraph (e) of subsection (6) of section
   13  1008.22, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   14         1008.22 Student assessment program for public schools.—
   15         (6) LOCAL ASSESSMENTS.—
   16         (e) Each school district shall establish schedules for the
   17  administration of any district-mandated assessment and approve
   18  the schedules as an agenda item at a district school board
   19  meeting. A school district may not schedule more than 10 school
   20  days in a school year to administer all local assessments and
   21  statewide, standardized assessments required under this section.
   22  If more than 10 school days are needed to administer such
   23  assessments, the school district must approve the number of
   24  additional days. The school district shall publish the testing
   25  schedules on its website, clearly specifying the district
   26  mandated assessments, and report the schedules to the Department
   27  of Education by October 1 of each year.
   28         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015.
