RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Vance Harper, owner of Nick's Barbershop, on the occasion of the
barbershop's 20th anniversary and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Nick's Barbershop is one of the oldest and most renowned barbering
establishments in Georgia and has been a neighborhood mainstay in Stone
Mountain, Georgia, for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS,
Nick's Barbershop is currently owned and operated under the caring
proprietorship of Mr. Vance Harper, an esteemed community and business leader;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Harper is a part of Nick's Barbershop's long tradition of outstanding
service, and he intends to maintain that tradition for many years to come;
and
WHEREAS,
today this friendly, welcoming business continues to thrive based upon its high
standards of customer service and satisfaction, and the personal and individual
attention the barbershop employees offer their customers; and
WHEREAS,
Nick's Barbershop is a distinguished Georgia business and a shining example of
the outstanding entrepreneurship and hard work which form the foundation of
Georgia's communities; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the many accomplishments of this
amazing business and the continuing positive contributions Mr. Vance Harper
provides to the community of Stone Mountain, Georgia, be appropriately
recognized by renaming a bridge located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, in his
honor.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
commends Mr. Vance Harper for his tremendous and dedicated service to his
customers and his many contributions to the citizens of Stone Mountain and
Georgia's economy and hereby recognizes Nick's Barbershop on the special
occasion of its 20th anniversary.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this body urges that DeKalb County rename the Redan
Road Bridge, located near Nick's Barbershop in Stone Mountain Georgia, the Vance
Harper Bridge in honor of Mr. Harper and the many contributions he has made to
the citizens of Stone Mountain, Georgia, as owner of Nick's
Barbershop.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Vance
Harper.
