RESOLUTION
Commending
Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia and recognizing February 15, 2012, as
Children's Advocacy Centers Day at the capitol; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia promotes a comprehensive approach to the
intervention, investigation, prosecution, and treatments of child abuse
including cases involving physical abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, sexual
exploitation, Internet crimes, child fatalities, and children who have witnessed
domestic violence and homicides; and
WHEREAS,
it puts the need of the children first and brings together state-of-the-art
technology and experienced professionals who are trained to provide
comprehensive and compassionate service to the children and their nonoffending
caregivers; and
WHEREAS,
with 21 centers currently full members in good standing with the National
Children's Alliances, Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia truly is a leading
state chapter focused on best practices in prevention, intervention, and
treatment of child abuse; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
organization and its numerous contributions to the citizens of this state be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia for their dedicated
efforts in prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse and recognize
February 15, 2012, as Children's Advocacy Centers Day at the
capitol.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the
Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia.
