A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Frank Taylor for all that he has done for Georgia; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Frank Taylor has long been recognized for the vital role that he has played in
providing leadership and in serving the citizens of this state; and
WHEREAS,
he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of this state as evidenced
dramatically by his work as the founder and president of Taylord Entertainment,
one of the largest management entertainment agencies in the country;
and
WHEREAS,
for many years, he has coordinated the incredibly successful
Showcase of the
South, one of the largest musical events
in the Southeast dedicated specifically to independent musicians, which is an
annual event at the Rialto Theatre in downtown Atlanta that plays to a packed,
sold-out house and has featured such talent as B5, Jagged Edge, and LaToya Scott
of the R&B group Xscape; and
WHEREAS,
as an essential part of Atlanta's economy and a testament to the opportunities
available in this state, the
Showcase of the
South has long been a catalyst for
southern musical artists to gain exposure and experience in the entertainment
industry and has prepared emerging artists for professions in the competitive
field of entertainment; and
WHEREAS,
in addition to his work with the
Showcase of the
South, Frank Taylor also started the
Knowledge is Power Management Only conferences to educate up and coming music
industry executives and manages and consults with various artists, producers,
and songwriters from around the United States representing diverse musical
genres; and
WHEREAS,
he also founded the Taylord Empowerment Association of Music Foundation, which
provides under-privileged youth and adults throughout the global community with
opportunities to actualize their dreams in the field of music; and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivities have earned him
the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian and all that he has done for this state be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Frank Taylor is
commended for his many years of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated
public service to the citizens of his community and state, is extended the
utmost gratitude for all he has done to make Georgia an even better place to
work and to live, and is extended best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Frank Taylor.
