BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 50-14-1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to meetings to be open to the public, limitation on action to contest agency
action, recording, notice of time and place, access to minutes, and
telecommunications conferences, so as to authorize all agencies to conduct
meetings by teleconference under certain circumstances; to provide for related
matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 50-14-1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to meetings
to be open to the public, limitation on action to contest agency action,
recording, notice of time and place, access to minutes, and telecommunications
conferences, is amended by revising subsection (f) as follows:
"(f)
All
agencies
An agency
with state-wide jurisdiction shall be
authorized to conduct meetings by telecommunications conference, provided that
any such meeting is conducted in compliance with this
chapter."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
