RESOLUTION
Recognizing
James Robert Touchton; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
James Robert Touchton has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment
to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's
degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration,
where he served as president of the Student Government Association, as a member
of Delta Tau Delta, and as Treasurer of the Cobb Young Republicans;
and
WHEREAS,
his service to the state began in the Office of Governor Sonny Perdue, and he
was the Legislative Director to State Representative David Casas before becoming
a Senior Policy Analyst with the Senate Research Office; and
WHEREAS,
as a member of the Senate Research Office, he has staffed the Education and
Youth, Higher Education, State and Local Governmental Operations, Science and
Technology, and State Institutions and Properties Committees; and
WHEREAS,
he has also served in various educational advisory roles nationwide and was
named National Conference of State Legislatures Educational Fellow;
and
WHEREAS,
James Robert Touchton has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable
hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community
and state as evidenced dramatically by his superlative service with the state,
all of which have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and
associates; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately
recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize James Robert
Touchton for his many contributions to the State of Georgia and extend to him
their most sincere best wishes for continued success.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to James Robert Touchton.
