A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TWENTY-SIXTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2018-2019:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Central middle school, Oahu
Additional construction funding to complete campus-wide painting project including buildings D, E, F, and G.
Construction $350,000
Total funding $350,000
B. King William C. Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu
Design and equipment for a new bell and emergency warning system and replacement of outside horns.
Design $10,000
Equipment $65,000
Total funding $75,000
C. King William C. Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment to install air conditioning systems in the office buildings and classrooms.
Design $40,000
Construction $90,000
Equipment $1,000,000
Total funding $1,130,000
D. King William C. Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu
Equipment to replace water fountains with a cooling system that has water bottle fills and cold water.
Equipment $12,000
Total funding $12,000
E. King William C. Lunalilo elementary school, Oahu
Equipment to replace furniture including new shelves, teachers' desks, storage units, cubbies, and file cabinets.
Equipment $60,000
Total funding $60,000
F. Pohukaina elementary school, Oahu
Funds for construction of a new elementary school.
Construction $60,000,000
Total funding $60,000,000
G. President George Washington middle school, Oahu
Additional funding for construction of and equipment for a new band room.
Construction $5,350,000
Equipment $50,000
Total funding $5,400,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2018.
