A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twenty-third representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for the fiscal year 2011-2012:
1. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
A. Ala Wai small boat harbor, Oahu
Construction for improvements to B, C, and D floating decks.
Construction $3,000,000
Total funding $3,000,000
B. Ala Wai small boat harbor, Oahu
Construction for improvement to 700 rows.
Construction $1,000,000
Total funding $1,000,000
C. Kewalo Basin, Oahu Construction for miscellaneous bike path improvements.
Construction $1,910,000

D. Waikiki sea wall, Oahu
Construction for improvements to the Waikiki sea wall.

2. To be expended by the department education:
A. Jefferson elementary school, Oahu
Construction for restroom renovations for building O.
Construction $100,000

B. Jefferson elementary school, Oahu
Construction for electrical system upgrades for
building R.

C. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu
Construction for campus drainage improvements.
Construction $150,000

D. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu
Construction for campus carpentry work.
Construction $35,000

E. Waikiki elementary school, Oahu
Construction for installation of the central public address system.
Construction $5,000

Construction for installation of fence for kindergarten area.

Construction for installation of security lights.

H. Waikiki Community Center, Oahu
Construction for installation of safety padding for preschool playground.

I. Waikiki Community Center, Oahu
Construction costs for roof repair, gutter replacement and installation, and painting of three buildings in the complex that houses five nonprofit agencies, including Waikiki Health Center's main health clinic. Project qualifies as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statues.

Total funding $230,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
