A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO NEIGHBORHOOD BOARDS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 92-82, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:

     "(a)  Two or more members of a neighborhood board, but fewer than the number of members necessary to constitute a quorum for the board, may attend informational meetings or presentations on matters relating to official board business, including meetings of another entity, seminars, and community meetings; provided that the presentation is not specifically and exclusively organized for or directed toward members of the neighborhood board.  Neighborhood board members may attend meetings or presentations on matters relating to official board business that are open to the public and do not charge a fee or require registration; provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively organized for or directed toward members of the neighborhood board and that no member makes a commitment to vote on any of the issues discussed."


     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
