H.F. 2163 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 148.4 Anesthesia services —— 1 inspection of medical settings. 2 The board may conduct an inspection of a medical setting 3 in which a licensee under this chapter provides anesthesia 4 services. The inspection may include review of any 5 documentation related to the provision of such anesthesia 6 services. The board may contract with another state agency or 7 qualified person to conduct inspections under this section. 8 The costs of inspections shall be paid through the expenditure 9 of licensing fees. The board shall adopt rules to administer 10 this section. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill authorizes the board of medicine to conduct 15 inspections of medical settings in which anesthesia services 16 are provided by licensees under the purview of the board 17 of medicine. The inspection may include review of any 18 documentation related to the provision of anesthesia services. 19 The bill authorizes the board to contract with another state 20 agency or qualified person to conduct the inspections.
