the
Iowa
professional
fire
fighters,
the
Iowa

emergency
medical
services
association,
the
joint
council
of

Iowa
fire
service
organizations,
the
Iowa
department
of
public

safety,
the
Iowa
chapter
of
the
association
of
public-safety

communications
officials——international,
inc.,
the
Iowa
chapter
17
of
the
national
emergency
number
association,
the
department
18
of
homeland
security
and
emergency
management,
and
the
Iowa
19
department
of
public
health,
shall
adopt
rules
pursuant

to
chapter
17A
establishing
minimum
standards
for
training
21
of
public
safety
telecommunicators.
For
purposes
of
this
22
section
,
“telecommunicator”
“Public
safety
telecommunicator”
23
means
a
person
who
receives
serves
as
a
first
responder
by
24
receiving
requests
for,
or
dispatches
by
dispatching
requests
25
to,
emergency
response
agencies
which
include
but
are
not
26
limited
to
law
enforcement,
fire,
rescue,
and
emergency
medical
27
services
agencies.
