2 | | exclusive bargaining representative, to complete necessary |
3 | | nursing classes, labs, and clinicals to obtain the |
4 | | prerequisites to take the licensure exam to become a |
5 | | registered nurse. Nursing classes and labs should not occur |
6 | | during the employee's scheduled work hours or conflict with |
7 | | the employee's board employment. Clinicals that take place at |
8 | | district schools during work hours are permitted if they have |
9 | | been approved by the employee's direct supervisor. |
10 | | (e) Members of the program should, to the extent |
11 | | practicable, continue working at their current school sites |
12 | | and continue to work in the district for at least 2 years upon |
13 | | completion of the registered nurse credential. |
14 | | (f) The district shall cover up to $10,000 in expenses per |
15 | | candidate for up to 100 candidates per year, selected upon |
16 | | application to the program, for nursing program classes, labs, |
17 | | and clinicals. Candidates must commit to at least 2 years as a |
18 | | registered nurse in the district upon passing of the |
19 | | registered nurse licensure exam, which must be taken within 6 |
20 | | months after the completion of the program. For candidates who |
21 | | leave the district before the end of the 2 years, candidates |
22 | | shall reimburse the district for a proportional cost of the |
23 | | time they do not complete with the district. Additional |
24 | | covered costs for completing the licensure are subject to |
25 | | appropriation. Nurses shall be required to complete a tuition |
26 | | reimbursement contract in accordance with the board's existing |
