AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3950
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3950 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Dual Credit Quality Act is amended by
5adding Section 40 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 27/40 new)
7 Sec. 40. Students with disabilities; plan required.
8 (a) Within one year after the effective date of this
9amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly, each community
10college district shall develop a plan to offer dual credit
11courses to high school students with disabilities enrolled in
12school districts located within the jurisdiction of the
13community college district who have an individualized
14education program under Article 14 of the School Code and who
15do not otherwise meet the academic criteria for dual credit
16course eligibility pursuant to Section 16 of this Act.

1 (b) All of the following shall apply to a plan developed by
2a community college district under subsection (a):
3 (1) The plan shall include a list of dual credit
4 courses available to eligible high school students with
5 disabilities.
6 (2) The plan shall require that each student be
7 provided with appropriate support, accommodations, and
8 modifications, including a significantly modified
9 curriculum, in accordance with the student's
10 individualized education program.
11 (3) The plan shall include a process for the community
12 college district to notify residents of the community
13 college district about the availability of dual credit
14 courses for eligible high school students with
15 disabilities.
16 (4) The plan must be incorporated into any partnership
17 agreement between a school district and the community
18 college district pursuant to Section 16 of this Act.
19 (5) The plan must be posted on the publicly available
20 Internet website of the community college district.
21 (6) The plan must be updated at least every 3 years
22 after the development of the initial plan.
23 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
24becoming law.".
