Bill Title: Amends the Children with Disabilities Article of the School Code. Notwithstanding any other provision of the Article, provides that, beginning with Fiscal Year 2010, the State Board of Education shall reimburse school districts, other than the Chicago school district, for all costs incurred by those school districts for the education of children with disabilities. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
105 ILCS 5/14-14.05 new

Amends the Children with Disabilities Article of the School Code. Notwithstanding any other provision of the Article, provides that, beginning with Fiscal Year 2010, the State Board of Education shall reimburse school districts, other than the Chicago school district, for all costs incurred by those school districts for the education of children with disabilities. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5 14-14.05 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/14-14.05 new)
7 Sec. 14-14.05. Full reimbursement for costs.
8 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Article, beginning
9 with Fiscal Year 2010, the State Board of Education shall
10 reimburse school districts, other than a school district
11 organized under Article 34 of this Code, for all costs incurred
12 by those school districts for the education of children with
13 disabilities.
14 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15 becoming law.
