1 | AN ACT concerning civil law.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Eminent Domain Act is amended by changing | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | Section 10-5-40 as follows:

6 | (735 ILCS 30/10-5-40) (was 735 ILCS 5/7-117)

7 | Sec. 10-5-40. Oath of jury. When the jury is is selected, | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | the court shall
cause the following oath to be administered to | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | the jury:

10 | You and each of you do solemnly swear that you will well | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | and truly
ascertain and report just compensation to the owner | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | (and each owner) of
the property which it is sought to take or | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | damage in this case, and to
each person therein interested, | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | according to the facts in the case, as
the same may appear by | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | the evidence, and that you will truly
report such compensation | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | so ascertained: so help you God. | |||||||||||||||||||
