Amends the Park District Code. Provides that a park district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels, equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for in other provisions authorizing a lease for equipment and machinery (currently, up to 8 years) when authorized by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the governing board of the park district. Effective immediately.

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 8-13a as follows:

8 | | Notwithstanding Section 8-13, a park district may enter into a |
9 | | lease, contract, or other agreement related to the acquisition |
10 | | of solar energy, including the installation, maintenance, and |
11 | | service of solar panels, equipment, or similar technology |
12 | | related to solar energy, for a period not to exceed 2.5 times |
13 | | the term of years provided for in Section 8-13 when authorized |
14 | | by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the governing board |
15 | | of the park district.

16 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
17 | | becoming law.
