Bill Title: Amends the Civic Center Code. Provides that the Authority shall make buildings of a civic center organized under this Code available for emergency purposes. Provides that the Authority shall cooperate in all matters with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, local emergency management agencies, a State-accredited emergency management agency with jurisdiction, local public health departments, the American Red Cross, and federal agencies concerned with emergency preparedness and response. SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
70 ILCS 200/2-160 new

Amends the Civic Center Code. Provides that the Authority shall make buildings of a civic center organized under this Code available for emergency purposes. Provides that the Authority shall cooperate in all matters with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, local emergency management agencies, a State-accredited emergency management agency with jurisdiction, local public health departments, the American Red Cross, and federal agencies concerned with emergency preparedness and response. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Civic Center Code is amended by adding
5Section 2-160 as follows:
6 (70 ILCS 200/2-160 new)
7 Sec. 2-160. Buildings available for emergency purposes.
8The Authority shall make buildings of a civic center organized
9under this Code available for emergency purposes upon the
10request of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, a
11State-accredited emergency management agency with
12jurisdiction, or the American Red Cross. The Authority shall
13cooperate in all matters with the Illinois Emergency Management
14Agency, local emergency management agencies, a
15State-accredited emergency management agency with
16jurisdiction, local public health departments, the American
17Red Cross, and federal agencies concerned with emergency
18preparedness and response.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20becoming law.
