1		AN ACT concerning education.
2		Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3		represented in the General Assembly:
4		Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5		22-65 as follows:
6		(105 ILCS 5/22-65 new)
7		Sec. 22-65. Submission of school floor plans and
8		schematics. Every school in this State, whether public or
9		non-public, must submit detailed floor plans and schematics of
10		the school to both the local fire department and the local law
11		enforcement agency. If the school undergoes any major
12		renovation or addition, then these floor plans and schematics
13		must be resubmitted to the fire department and law enforcement
14		agency after the renovation or addition is completed. Each
15		year, the fire department and law enforcement agency must
16		conduct a joint meeting to review their roles in various
17		emergencies and how they can work together during those
18		emergencies. Within 60 days after resubmission of plans and
19		schematics after a major renovation or addition, the fire
20		department and law enforcement agency must conduct another
21		meeting.
22		Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
