Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Police Training Act. Provides that in lieu of a training waiver granted by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board under the Act, the chief of police of a law enforcement agency may employ as a permanent or part-time law enforcement officer a person who does not meet the training standards and is not certified as a law enforcement officer under the Act if the chief of police signs an attestation that the applicant for employment as a law enforcement officer has extensive prior law enforcement or corrections experience in another state or with the United States government and has prior to the officer's employment completed a course on Illinois law comparable to the course required for law enforcement officers certified under the Act. Provides that the attestation shall be filed with the Board and the applicant may assume duties as a law enforcement officer immediately upon the chief of police's transmittal of that attestation to the Board. Provides that nothing in this provision prohibits a law enforcement agency from seeking a training waiver under the Act for prospective law enforcement officer applicants who do not meet the training standards of the Act.
