2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to
learn of the passing of |
4 | | Roumanos "Ray" Faddoul Khoury of Washington, and wish
to honor |
5 | | his life and pay tribute to a very special man; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury was born in Aitou, Lebanon to Faddoul |
7 | | and Mary (Trad) Khoury on August 21, 1940; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury married Sadie on November 21,
1967 and |
9 | | they raised seven successful children; he was proud to
witness |
10 | | the love of his family in all 22 of his grandchildren; he was a |
11 | | proud
"Jiddi"; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury had a passion for his Catholic faith |
13 | | and his
Lebanese heritage; he was active at his church, the St. |
14 | | Sharbel Men's Club,
and the Itoo Society; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury enjoyed the fruits of his labor from |
16 | | his garden which he
endlessly and generously shared with |
17 | | everyone; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury retired from Caterpillar, Inc., where |
19 | | he worked his
entire 34 years of service; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury's vision, commitment, and tenacity |
2 | | helped him build his family home by hand, which hundreds of |
3 | | family and friends
have enjoyed, and a myriad of priceless |
4 | | memories have been made; and

5 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury was a father figure to dozens of people |
6 | | that learned
from his and Sadie's examples of love; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury was preceded in death by his parents |
8 | | and his brothers, Joseph
(Margo), Antonios (Marie), and Bakhos; |
9 | | and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Ray Khoury is survived by his wife, Sadie; his |
11 | | children, Anthony (Carol), Robert (Gloria), Victoria (James) |
12 | | Rakestraw,
Paul (Andrea), Tonya (Dustin) McDougall, John |
13 | | (Paige), and Mariam (Adam)
Briggs; his 22 grandchildren; |
14 | | several nieces and nephews; and his
siblings, Mariam (Bakhos) |
15 | | Bechara, Renee (Maurice) Maroun, Sr. Rita, and
Georgette; |
16 | | therefore, be it

17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
18 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
19 | | mourn the passing of Roumanos "Ray" Faddoul Khoury, and extend |
20 | | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who |
