2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jeannine |
4 | | Ellen (Mason) Black of Mahomet, who passed away on July 4, |
5 | | 2023; and

6 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black was born in Bloomington to Harold |
7 | | and Alma (Ehrlich) Mason on November 2, 1939; she attended |
8 | | Trinity Lutheran School in Bloomington, graduated from |
9 | | Champaign High School in 1957, and attended the University of |
10 | | Illinois; she married James L. Black at St. John Lutheran |
11 | | Church in Champaign on January 28, 1961; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black loved her family and always put |
13 | | them first; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black enjoyed gardening and was an |
15 | | excellent cook, famous for her angel food cake; she was an avid |
16 | | fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black was preceded in death by her |
18 | | parents; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Black is survived by her husband, Jim; |
20 | | her son, Jeffrey (Wendy) Black; her daughter, Julie (Derk) |
