1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3		Representatives wish to congratulate the Taylorville Future
4		Farmers of America (FFA) of Illinois on being named the 2023
5		Premier National Chapter in Strengthening Agriculture; and
6		WHEREAS, The Taylorville FFA of Illinois attendees of
7		today include, Chloe Grant, Jay Bliler, Tucker Winans, Tanner
8		and Drew Mickey, Stephen Franklin, Abby Norris, Audrey Curtin,
9		Abby Erlenbush, Liam Steward, and Jake Whetsell; and
10		WHEREAS, The Taylorville FFA of Illinois awardees include
11		Jay Bliler, who received the National Proficiency Award in
12		Agriculture Research, Drew Mickey and Jay Bliler, who placed
13		2nd in National FFA Agriscience Fair Animal Systems, Abby
14		Norris and Abby Erlenbush, who placed 4th in National FFA
15		Agriscience Fair Social Systems, and Tanner Mickey, who was a
16		finalist for Star Farmer Over America; and
17		WHEREAS, The National FFA Organization is a school-based
18		national youth leadership development organization of more
19		than 945,000 student members as part of 9,163 local FFA
20		chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin
21		Islands; and

1		WHEREAS, The National FFA recognizes the top chapters with
2		innovative activities in three divisions, which include
3		growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening
4		agriculture; and
5		WHEREAS, The Taylorville FFA of Illinois identified the
6		need for adult role models and established a program named My
7		Mentor, outshining the rest of the chapters to win the sixth
8		general session of the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo in
9		Indianapolis; and
10		WHEREAS, The Taylorville FFA of Illinois is filled with
11		bright and exceptional future leaders of America, and their
12		continued determination will lead Illinois agriculture into
13		another generation of prosperity; therefore, be it
14		RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
15		HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16		we congratulate the Taylorville FFA of Illinois on being named
17		the 2023 Premier National Chapter in Strengthening
18		Agriculture; and be it further
