1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, On Friday, March 2, an unthinkable tragedy
3		occurred on the campus of Central Michigan University; during
4		the incident, the village of Bellwood and the 7th District lost
5		one of its finest, Officer James E. Davis Sr., and his wife
6		Diva (Dye-Vah) Davis; and
7		WHEREAS, Officer Davis, who served as a part-time police
8		officer in Bellwood for over 20 years, was also a police
9		officer with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs;
10		additionally, Officer Davis was an Army veteran who did a tour
11		of duty in Iraq in 2003 and served in the Illinois National
12		Guard for 24 years before his retirement in 2014; and
13		WHEREAS, Diva Davis was a devoted wife, mother, real estate
14		broker, and American Airlines Flight Attendant who was loved
15		and respected by everyone who knew her; therefore, be it
16		RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17		HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
18		keep the Davis family in our hearts and prayers and join
19		together in a moment of silence in memory of Officer James E.
20		Davis Sr. and Diva Davis.
