1 | AN ACT concerning civil law.
| |||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Conveyances Act is amended by changing | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | Section 2 as follows:

6 | (765 ILCS 5/2) (from Ch. 30, par. 2)

7 | Sec. 2.
Every estate, gift, grant, deed, mortgage, lease,
| |||||||||||||||||||
8 | release, or confirmation of lands, tenements, rents, services | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | or
hereditaments made or had, or hereafter to be made or had, | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | by any person
or persons, being of full age and
and sound mind, | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | and not procured
by duress, to any person or persons, and all | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | recoveries, judgments and enforcements
had or made, or to be | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | had or made, shall be good and
effectual to him, her or them to | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | whom it is or shall be so made, had or
given, and to all others, | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | to his, her or their use, against the judgment
debtor, seller, | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | donor, grantor, mortgagor, lessor, releasor, or
confirmor, and | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | against his, her or their heirs, claiming the same only
as heir | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | or heirs, and each of them, and against all others having or
| |||||||||||||||||||
19 | claiming any title or interest in the same, only to the use of | |||||||||||||||||||
20 | the same
judgment debtor, seller, donor, grantor, mortgagor, | |||||||||||||||||||
21 | lessor,
releasor or confirmor, or his, her or their heirs, at | |||||||||||||||||||
22 | the time of
the judgment, enforcement, bargain, sale, mortgage, | |||||||||||||||||||
23 | covenant, lease,
release, gift or grant made. |
